Ground handlings services serve the air plane when it is on the ground at the airport till its next flight.  Many airlines outsource the ground handling service to third parties around the world.  But the ground handling services encompasses many other services, which are not directly related to the serving of air plane. The services are of vital important because it prepares the air plane for next flight. The service should be efficient and at the same time it must be done with accuracy and speed. Cabin service includes cleaning the airplane and resupplying the items, which are used during the flight by passengers like soaps, tissue papers, blankets, and pillows. In catering services, all the foods and drinking items are replenished on the plane. Some airlines have own catering service, but normally other airlines outsource the service. Some five star hotels are arranged to provide the catering services. Handling passengers and giving them services such a boarding pass, dealing with check in services and handling passengers baggage etc. Other services likes providing ground signals to the airplane to park the plane at fixed location at airport, taking the ladders to move to airplane during arrivals, refueling the plane, loading or unloading of cargo are also part of the ground services.

There was concern that the third parties may not be able to provide the quality ground handling service to match the service standard of a particular airline. But the new policy of the government of India puts emphasize on the third party ground handling services. The quality of the services has to be kept the international level by these third party service providers   .  The increasing completion will ensure that the quality of these ground handling services will increase. Both domestic and international airports in India have ground handling services by other parties.  Some airlines are forming separate companies to provide ground handling services at the leading airports in Indiana and abroad.

Charter helicopter services Helicopter Charter Service in India normally have their own personal at the ground to handle the technical and other passenger’s services. The helicopters are positioned at small airports and handling of passengers is not the big problem. The maximum 4-5 passengers are allowed inside a helicopter. There is also limit on the baggage.  As far as preparing the helicopter for flight, the charter companies have trained technical person to deal with technical aspect of the service. Some companies also take persons from armed forces background to fly and maintain the helicopters. Some charted helicopters do not have to fly daily as they demand on customer demand and need.
